A new release of Clarity software and a corresponding new service pack for Clarity LX consoles are both now available.
Details of the major changes are listed below.
The service pack can be applied to all LX consoles.
We urge all users to update to this release.
If you encounter any issues applying this Service Pack then please contact your local LSC support person.
Note
that each software release includes the latest user manuals and the
latest fixture library as at the time of release. However, users should
be aware that more up to date Fixture Libraries may be available and
users should check on this site.
The latest Clarity v2 software can be downloaded from here and
Service Pack 14 can be downloaded from here.
New Features of note:
LX Console Expansion
It is now possible to use standard VX10 and VX20 wings with LX consoles.
Plug
the VX wing/s into the USB ports on the rear of the console and then
select them via the existing “Hardware” menu in Control Boot.
It is now possible to use QX1, QX2 and QX4 nodes with LX consoles.
Plug the QX node/s into the USB ports on the rear of the console.
The QX devices automatically appear in the Connections pane of the patch window.
Clarity software license keys (CT/x devices) can now be used to expand the channel capacity of LX consoles.
Plug in via USB and the licenses channels are automatically added to the internal channel count.
Eg. LX300 + CT/2 = 4096 + 1024 DMX slots = 5,120 DMX slots.
The
LX consoles support up to 96 external USB devices, allowing the
connection of large quantities of VX wings, QX nodes and CT licenses
simultaneously.
Update
The original AutoUpdate has been augmented by a new Update function which works in a similar manner to other consoles.
The new system is accessed via the existing [Update] button on LX consoles and via a new menubar button in Clarity software.
The
new method lists all the currently active cues (in chronological order
of playback activity) and presets and allows the user to select which
one to merge the current programmer contents into via a new dialog box.
The user can also press the [select] button of any playback to select the current cue in that cuelist as the target.
The old AutoUpdate function is still available via a button in the new dialog box.
Dynamic FX improvements
Removed the artificial limit where “Bottom must be less than Centre” and “Centre must be less than Top” for dynamics.
Fixed: universal view not showing correct levels for dynamics that use presets and also
Can now assign presets to top and bottom values of dynamics
- in normal clarity just touch the top/centre/bottom param widget to select the destination for presets/Freesets
-
for LX, the selected encoder wheel mode (bottom rhs mode button on
dynamics view) also chooses the destination for presets/Freesets
- auto-resets to centre when clear is pressed
Fixed: parameter widgets do not show preset name for dynamics that use presets
Changed nomenclature of dynamic base-value modes
- Standard > Centre
- Ranged > Top-Bottom
- Scaled > Top-Centre-Bottom
- Pile-add > No base
Cuelist Enhancements
Advanced MIDI.
It is now possible to control any cuelist (even those not assigned to a playback) via MIDI.
Select any cuelist in Control Booth and then press the “List” button in the toolbar.
Select the “Set/edit MIDI trigger” item from the menu.
This
feature also allows for the fader level to be mapped to the Velocity
parameter of the MIDI information for enhanced control.
Loops in Cuelists.
Implemented Loops in Cuelists.
Right click on a cue in a cuelist and select the “Insert Loop” item.
Options
exist for continuous looping until Go is pressed, or for the loop to
execute X number of times and then exit to the next cue in the list.
